9. Miracles, Signs and Wonders 2024
A crossroad is a place of decision that will affect the course of one’s life. Cross roads…North, South, East,or West, which course will you choose? Which path will you take? GOD’s will or your own path. Will the path we choose fulfill GOD’s plan for our lives, or will it simply be a plan that follows our own reasoning for what we want out of life. In Jeremiah 6:16, the prophet exhorts us with regard to the old path. He uses the illustration of a man standing at an intersection or at a fork in the road observing which way to go.
A few years ago at 5pm, I found myself standing in my kitchen with what had become my crossroad, deciding which road do I take. Do I stay on the old path of a dissolving marriage or to move on as a single parent with two sons. Like the man in the text I needed to seek peace and rest before crossing into a new path of uncertainty. So didn’t havI picked up the phone an called 411. I asked the operator for a number to legal aide because I was considering a restraining order.
The agent gave me a number based upon my area and location. Before I made the call I asked LORD,, “What do I do? I called the number at 5:15pm at a time the courts are closing, but to my surprise a man answered and I explained my situation. He gave me specific instructions and asked if we were alright. Then he asked how did I get this number and did I know who he was. I told him that I just dialed 411 thinking that I would get an attorney with legal aide. He said, “No I am a judge” at a different location from my home. He said that if I am unsuccessful tomorrow, keep my number, call me, and I will help you at this cour. He said that he was on His break and had to return back to court. He said that if he didn’t hear from me, then he would know that I was successful. The mysterious part of all of this is… how often does a judge answer a call? God, the great judge orchestrated this whole conversation and I was set up for a blessing. Are you at a crossroad, stand and pray until His will is clear.
Another miracle in my life was on Dec 25th. I was assigned to work the overnight shift at The George Washington Hospital in Washington, DC. I remember the many Christmas holidays that others worked for me so that I could spend the holiday with family, but this year was different. I had to go to work. I was resting at home and preparing my mind for work when I received a call from my son saying he was in the Emergency Room where I worked. He had experienced numbness while having dinner with some friends. He left the dinner, drove himself to the hospital, perfectly parked his car, and walked into the Emergency Room. He gave them all the information he needed to give only by THE GRACE OF GOD.
His BLOOD PRESSURE was very high. He walked into an empty ER, was taken back immediately. Although I was assigned to work that evening, I knew that I needed to be with my son. I went to work anyway, and my coworker said that tried to call me to say not to come to work because she would cover our area since it wasn't busy. At the crossroad, I stood and meditating on Jeremiah 6:16 which was my devotion that week. I had been asked by First Lady Greer to share How GOD will do the Miraculous from a single praying parent perspective.
I can see that at the crossroads, GOD will release what I can't see. This was yet another Miracle on Christmas, my son was discharged with a good report.
