Day 33. The Holy One

25 To whom then will ye liken me, or shall I be equal? saith the Holy One. 26 Lift up your eyes on high, and behold who hath created these things, that bringeth out their host by number: he calleth them all by names by the greatness of his might, for that he is strong in power; not one faileth. 27 Why sayest thou, O Jacob, and speakest, O Israel, My way is hid from the Lord, and my judgment is passed over from my God? 28 Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding. 29 He giveth power to the faint, and to them that have no might he increaseth strength. 30 Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall: 31 But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary, and they shall walk, and not faint. (Isaiah 40:25-31)

Perhaps none of the descriptive names of God so quickly describes to our finite minds the very essence of who God is. He is The Holy One, the most perfect being in existence (Exodus 15:11) to whom there is no equal. He is the Holy One. He is absolutely separate from evil and cannot tolerate sin (Habakkuk 2:13). Isaiah uses this proper name more than any other prophet.

Holiness is God’s primary attribute. Therefore, if we would dwell with Him, He demands that we be holy or set apart as well (I Peter 1:15-16). God has always required holiness from His people (Exodus 22:31). All the holiness that man can possess is found in Jesus Christ who is called “The holy one of God”.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, You are the holy one. You and you alone deserve my worship. I thank you for being so caring of us. You never cease to be the Holy one. You are the one who has no equal and no one can compete with you. Thank you Jesus !!!

Holy, Holy, Holy
Lord God almighty
