“Ask and keep on asking and it will be given to you; seek and keep on seeking and you will find; knock and keep on knocking and the door will be opened to you. 8 For everyone who keeps on asking receives, and he who keeps on seeking finds, and to him who keeps on knocking, it will be opened. 9 Or what man is there among you who, if his son asks for bread, will [instead] give him a stone? 10 Or if he asks for a fish, will [instead] give him a snake? 11 If you then, evil (sinful by nature) as you are, know how to give good and advantageous gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven [perfect as He is] give what is good and advantageous to those who keep on asking Him. (Matthew 7:7-11AMP)
It’s amazing how the Bible explains how we are to persistently seek and ask for what we need. Over and over again we are to ask God to set us free, to speak to our hearts, to convict and transform us. Tirelessly, we are to pray for those we know and love. God has not invited us to a one and done conversation. He’s inviting us to a “pray without ceasing” sort of dialogue (I Thes. 5:17).
An eternal back and forth is what he is wanting from us. As Mathew7:7 instructs, continue to “ask and keep on asking… seek and keep on seeking… knock and keep on knocking”(AMP). The door will be opened to you if it’s the door God knows is best.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank you for never giving up. Thank you for being a good gift-giver and provider. Thank you for giving me the strength to keep praying and trusting in your goodness and kindness. Help me to seek you for your will to be done and not my will. Therefore, I can ask, seek and knock, and know for sure that you will open an eternal door for me. In Jesus’ name, I pray, Amen.
